About Yale O'Leary "Larry" Whidden

Yale O'Leary "Larry" Whidden (1940-2018), born in Tampa, Florida, was a self-taught metal sculptor whose bronze and copper works gained international acclaim. After a tragedy in 1973, he pursued art, creating pieces like the four 10-12-foot Native American sculptures for the Seasons Resort in Vail, Colorado.

A founder of the Masaryktown, Crews Lake, Aripeka Art Festivals, and Art in the Park in Brooksville, Larry was a member of the Pasco and Hernando Fine Arts Council. He served as a road and bridge commissioner in Pasco County during the late 1970s and early 1980s, appointed to address corruption.

His art, passion, and mentorship inspired many. Click Here for Provenance. Contact Heather G. Whidden for provenance details.
